- Webmasters, clubs, groups, home page owners, etc: You are encouraged to link directly to our message boards to help build a community for your own sites. You may link directly to a specific board or boards, or to any category.

- HAVE US SET A BOARD UP FOR YOUR USE: If you want a new board set up for the purpose of using it primarily for your own site's use, that may be arranged by contacting us by email. We currently do not offer private message boards, but we can set up a board (or sometimes multiple boards) within our community that provides a means of promoting your site, and some other customized features (charter, announcement, etc.).

What this does for you:

1. It helps you to gain new viewers to your site. Since the board will be in our community, other community users or casual browsers will see your board. Then they will have the option to follow a link back to your site through that board.
2. It helps you to keep your viewers coming back to your site again and again. Message boards are one of the main contributors to a site's "stickiness". The message board gives your viewers a reason to come back through your home page / site to use the board.
3. It gives you another way to communicate to your users, and to folks who have a similar interest, but have not found your site yet.

1. That the person who is requesting the message board be a registered member of our free message board service.
2. That not too many changes are requested, nor too often. For example, if you have an important announcement (like a sale or a meeting), please make a post, rather than having us change your board's structure. All such changes (or set-ups) are subject to our approval, and subject to our own time-frame. Changes will be limited to the areas that we normally allow (such as the charter message, etc.). We cannot move a board once its location has been setup. Furthermore, although we are interested in your suggestion as to where (within our directory) we should place the board you want to use, the actual placement is up to us, and will fit in with our current structure.
3. You must follow the terms of service provided when you join(ed), including no adult or hateful content, etc.
4. You must provide a link from somewhere in your site or home page to our board if it is to be used for this purpose. In other words, the purpose of this service is to provide our users a place to gather and discuss things related to your site or interest. They are not intended to provide a one-way link from our board to your site without your viewers actually using the board.
5. We and our appropriate supplier(s) retain ownership of the message boards. We retain the right to remove or change the board at any time, as we see fit, with or without notification to you.
6. Excessive "SPAM" style posting will not be allowed. Not even from the person who requested the board to be established. An example of the type of thing we may not permit, is if an owner of multiple sites sets up a board for one site, but uses it for the purpose of promoting his/her other sites.
7. If the site or club that your board supports is no longer being used, please notify us. Additionally, we need a current email address of the person(s) who want to set up the board. Message boards may be removed if we feel that they are no longer being used actively by the folks who set it up, or their viewers.
8. In exchange for this service, we require a link on your home or main page back to the home page of our portal at www.unlimitus.com/index.shtml. You may use any of the banners, or buttons provided, or any appropriate text link (see our portal's linking to us / banners page).

1. Your message board's title, and location within our community. (Our community search feature searches by message board titles.)
2. Description.
3. Announcements (on the front page of the message board). These are not meant to be changed on a regular basis, more of a permanent type announcement.
4. About the message board / charter (what the board is all about).
5. We will let you post messages in the board with the URL of your own site, home page, club, or organization. This board is for your use, and promotion is encouraged. However, as stated before, SPAMMING IS NOT ALLOWED. And being a somewhat subjective thing, we suggest being cautious. Be reasonable about it, and things should be fine. Also, please keep in mind that we have to limit the promotion of URL's to the confines of postings, rather than the board's structure. In other words, your board's title could be your company or club title, not your company's url.
6. We have the ability to remove abusive posts, posters, and SPAMMERS from your message board and community. We prefer not to do this, but if the occasion demands it be done, then it can be. This is a tool to help you regulate your board, but only habitual or abusive offenders will be removed, and not on a whim.

Hint #1 for a successful board and site: Promote and use your message board. Promote that you have a message board to your current viewers (email newsletters, links, buttons, text announcements within your site) - promote it outside your site (in your site's banners, metatags, submit your site's message board lead in page to search engines and directories, etc.) - and even promote it off the web (business cards, ads, club meetings, newsletters, flyers, word of mouth). Tell your regular viewers about your message board to keep them coming back for more. It will also lead to many of them telling their friends to use your board, which will gather new viewers to your own site. Promoting it from outside your site is just one more reason for new viewers to come see what your website is all about. A healthy looking (active) message board will keep your posters coming back again and again, and also encourage casual lurkers and surfers to check out your board and site. It is in your best interest to get folks to your message board, and participate in discussions, at least until it gets large enough to grow itself.
