This page was created to help you navigate our portal and all of our sites more effectively. It's probably a good idea to read this if you are new to our portal.
Three very important rules:
1. If you get lost, the back button on your browser is your friend.
2. If you save our home page as your internet starting home page, you can use your browser's "Home" button to go
straight to it at any time. This should work even if you leave our portal, but want to return from anywhere on the web.
3. Click here for information, or to use our portal's text based site map. This can substitute for our drop down menus if needed.
Our portal consists of our starting Home Site, various sites and/or pages we own, and links to other sites. All of these areas link together to form our network (or portal). We have tried to design all our sites to incorporate this "portal" theme. You can click here to see a complete directory of all Unlimitus.com sites and subsites (this is not the same as our site map).
At the top of every page that we make, you should find 2 sets of drop down menus (an upper and a lower set). The upper and lower set are each contained within a different colored area. At first, it may look like there is only one set of menus, but in fact there are two different sets.
The first (top-most) set of menus (titled "Unlimitus Network Menus") are for navigation throughout our portal. These drop down lists should pretty much remain the same regardless of where you are within our sites. These menus were designed for ease of access to as many of or our tools as possible. The first drop down list gives a set of options which are applicable throughout all our sites/pages unless otherwise stated. For example, you will find the link to our starting Home Page, information on how to bookmark our pages, terms of use, how to get our portal's free email newsletter, etc. In addition to this menu, there are quite a few other drop down lists which lead to many of our other services, tools, etc.
The second (lower) set of menus are designed for the specific website/area you are currently at. These help you to navigate within a given site. Additionally, you will find a name and/or description of the current page you are at, and the name of the site you are at. These options will change at each site, and often at different pages.
Additionally, each site or page may have its own extra navigation tools within the body of the page. These would be similar to any typical site you might find on the web and are very page/site specific.
Lastly, you will find that our pages are divided into three main sections (separated by horizontal black lines):
1. The upper section contains our various navigation menus, counters, ads, useful links, tools, etc.
2. The middle section contains the "meat" or our page. This is where your search results, information, or other text/links will be displayed. This is why you came to a page. (You are currently reading from this middle section right now).
3. The lower section contains more ads, and links. There are often useful links or tools in this section, so check it out. The lower section also contains some quick navigation links for the site you are at, and for our portal.
So, to recap - there are two sets of menus. The upper set is used to navigate you throughout our portal. They will help you go from site to site, or page to page within our portal. The lower set is used to tell you where you are specifically, and to help you move around within a specific site or area. So, for example, if you wanted the contact information for the folks who maintain the overall layout of our whole portal, you would use the upper set of menus and click the contact us option. If you wanted to contact the people who maintain a specific area within our portal (say our shopping directory), you would use the contact us option from the lower set of menus (from within the shopping site).
Once you get the hang of it, it should be fairly simple to use. This design was used to counteract some of the problems we have personally had while moving around some of the larger portal sites. (And don't forget that "Back" button).
